What is collagen?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in our bodies and plays an important role in strengthening connective tissues. The word collagen derives from the Greek word for glue, Kólla, describing how it holds everything together. Collagen is mainly found in the skin, bones, tendons and other connective tissues. As we age, our ability to produce collagen diminishes - one of the reasons our skin starts to develop wrinkles is due to a lack of collagen!
